THREE terrorist of KZF arrested

Hoshiarpur / Jalandhar, March 21, 2013: In a joint operation undertaken by Hoshiarpur and Jalandhar Rural police, a module of Khalisatn Zindabad Force (KZF) was unearthed today.

Talking to mediapersons at Hoshiarpur this evening, Gurpreet Kaur Deo, Inspector General Police, Zonal II, Jalandhar, said that the arrested members were identified as Ranjit Singh Rana of Nurpur Jattan, Salinder Kaur, wife of Kishan Singh and Kulwinder Kaur, wife of Tarsem Singh, both of village Possi PS Mahilpur.

Police recovered one 7.65 MM auto pistol, one .9 MM pistol, made in USA, one .30 bore mauser, two .32 revolver, one .315 bore pistol, three magazines, 89 live cartridges (28 of 7.65 MM, 14 of .32 bore, 13 of .9 MM, 10 of .315 bore and 24 of .38 bore) from them.

An FIR (No 31) of March 21, 2013 under sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act, sections 10, 11 and 13 of Unlawful Activities Prevention Act has been registered at Mahilpur police station against Ranjit Singh Rana, Salinder Kaur, Kulwinder Kaur, Balwinder Singh of Possi, Daljit Singh, alias Jitu, son of Tarsem Singh of Majri PS Balachaur, district S B S Nagar and Ranjit Singh, alias Nita of Simbal Camp, Jammu and others.

Gurpreet Kaur Deo said that Ranjit Singh, alias Nita, is presently in Pakistan, Balwinder Singh in USA and Daljit Singh in Malasia.

Salinder Kaur is mother of Balwinder Singh, whose extradition proceedings are in progress, whereas Kulwinder Kaur is his sister. Ranjit Singh Rana was presently working as a Granthi in a Gurdwara of village Kohar in Jalandhar district.

She said that during preliminary investigation it was revealed that Balwinder Singh, a proclaimed offender, USA based terrorist, alongwith his associates was trying to revive terrorism again in Punjab for which his house at village Possi in this district was being used as a headquarter for carrying on terrorists' activities.

This is the second major module of terrorists unearthed in the past one month. Earlier, on February 27, 2013, in a joint operation conducted by the Commissionerate of Amritsar and Mohali police, a module of Babbar Khalsa International had been neutralised with the arrest of their top leader Narian Singh, alias Chaura and his associate Dharam Singh, alias Karan Singh of Ekal Gadda, PS Verowal, district Tarn Taran, said Gurpreet Deo, added that their further interrogation was being done.

DIG Jalandhar Range Lok Nath Angra and SSP, Hoshiarpur, Dr Sukhchain Singh Gill, were accompanying Gurpreet Kaur Deo.
