This event is being organized in collaboration with the Indian Ecological Society, Ludhiana, and is sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research Vision Viksit Bharat @ 2047, along with JICA.

Dr. Y S Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni’s College of Horticulture and Forestry, Thunag in Mandi district will host a two-day National Conference on Indigenous Knowledge System for a Sustainable Future: A Roadmap to Viksit Bharat-2047 on 13-14 February. This event is being organized in collaboration with the Indian Ecological Society, Ludhiana, and is sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research Vision Viksit Bharat @ 2047, along with JICA.

The conference will focus on five key themes: Science and Technology, Indigenous Knowledge Systems, Horticulture & Forestry, Natural Farming and Ayurveda, and Craftsmanship and Ayurvedic Practices.

Prominent speakers, including Chander Shekhar, MLA, Dharampur, Dr. Acharya Balkrishan, MD of Patanjali Ayurved Ltd. (virtual), and Padma Shri Nek Ram Sharma, will be among the several experts who will deliver the lead lectures during the conference. Additionally, six technical sessions will be held, chaired by eminent academicians from different institutions. Keynote addresses will be presented by heads from institutions such as the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, Prakritik Kheti Khushhal Kisan Yojna (online), Forest College and Research Institute, Mettupalayam, Tamil Nadu, and HP JICA Forestry Projects, Shimla. The conference will see the participation of 132 delegates from 8 states, representing 17 universities, research stations, and 4 national institutes.
