Dharamshala (HP), November 14, 2012: Tibetan Women’s Association, National Democratic Party of Tibet, Gu-Chu-Sum Movement for Tibet, and Students for a Free Tibet – India, in a joint public protest action will distribute flyers with background information on Xi Jinping.

This protest shall be organised by these Tibetan Support Groups in the Main Square of McLeod Ganj, Dharamsala, on evening of November 15.

Tashi Dolma office bearer of Tibetan Women’s Association and Dorjee Tsetan of the Students for a Free Tibet – India said on Wednesday in Dharamsala,” This protest will feature speeches from the participating organisations, followed by an ‘open mic’ for the public to address Xi Jinping and the new cadre of Chinese Communist Party leaders with their grievances and concerns over the situation inside Tibet.”

They said that several elected members of the Politburo Standing Committee and Xi himself will be present (using face masks and the huge Xi Jinping head from the viral Tibetan version of the ‘Gangnam Style’ video).

The main focus shall be on the thoughts and feelings on the self-immolations, mass protests, and resistance inside Tibet.

“This is in light of the ongoing 18th Party Congress in Beijing and convening of the Special International Tibet Support Group Meeting being organised from Friday at Dharamsala”, said  Gelek Jamyang of National Democratic Party of Tibet and Lukar Sham of  Gu-Chu-Sum Movement for Tibet.

They said, ”We are expecting Tibet support groups from over thirty countries to be represented, as well as a large number of local Tibetans, Indians, and foreign travelers to participate in it.”

This protest action will show the incredible strength and diversity of the Tibetan community in exile, and provide a public platform together in solidarity and express their opinions.
