Dharamsala, February 7, 2013: “All hopes are lying on the Indian Government and the people of this country for the solution of Tibet,” said Dawa Tsering, MP, Tibetan Assembly and Chairman of Representative Committee of Tibetan parliament in exile at a press briefing in Dharamsala on Thursday.

He said,” So far 99 Tibetans took the extreme step to immolate themselves since 2009 in Tibet to support the return of Dalai Lama and restoration of freedom in Tibet. 80 of them lost their lives and most of the rest are in Chinese jails. “

He said that Dalai Lama and the Central Tibetan Administration never encouraged such actions, but cannot control these activities from outside Tibet.

Dawa said that three groups of the Tibetan parliamentarians were formed to travel India to gather the support of Indians in their campaign for solidarity with Tibet. He said almost all the Chief Ministers they met supported the anatomy for Tibet on the limes of Hong Kong and Macao.

He said that the Tibetan government believes in talks and ready for Dharamsala –Beijing talks on Tibet anytime, anywhere, but there is no official link with China since 2009, though indirect communication is still on.

Dawa said, “We highly acknowledge the timely help and motherly care of Indian Government and people. It is because of that, that we are able to keep our culture and identity intact which is not possible in Tibet.”

The other Tibetan MPs,  present in the press meet were Kalsang Damdul, Mogru Tenpa and Gang Lhamo .
