Tikka hands over memo to CS for upgrading Ludhiana's Bicycle R&D Centre into international centre for cycle technology

Ludhiana: Punjab Medium Industrial Development Board (PMIDB) Chairman Amarjeet Singh Tikka along with President of All India Cycle Manufacturers' Association Onkar Singh Pahwa on Saturday met Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan and handed over a memorandum regarding the immediate need for upgrading Ludhiana's Bicycle R&D Centre into International Centre for Cycle Technology.
In a meeting with Chief Secretary, they said that International Centre for Cycle Technology would usher in an era of creating a World-class and scale manufacturing valley/hub of premium/electric bicycles in Punjab with the vision of 50 mn bicycles per annum by 2025.
They said that the aim is not only to bridge the gap but also to make the Centre World-class for Bicycle design, development and demonstration, testing and certification, additive manufacturing (Digital, loT and 3D printers, etc). They requested the chief secretary to consider the proposal and raise the issue with the Government of India.
