Time frame set for redressal of grievances to make officers more accountable

Chandigarh, February 24, 2015: The Technical Education and Industrial Training Department, Punjab today made the grievances redressal mechanism time bound by prescribing the time frame for their redressal and classified the grievances into 4 categories.
This has been done to make officers accountable for the time bound redressal of grievances.
Disclosing this, an official spokesperson said that for the charter related grievances a time limit of 1 month has been set for Public grievances officer (PGO), Nodal officer and Appellate authority. For the policy and procedure related matter, a time limit of 6 months has been prescribed for nodal officer and appellate authority. For the personnel related and miscellaneous grievances, a time frame of 1 month has been set.
The spokesperson further said that the Department had set up a grievances redressal mechanism which provides services at the level of Directorate of technical education, Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training, Punjab Technical University and Colleges/Institutes. Each level has a PGO, Nodal officer and Appellate authority.
