Time has arrived in Punjab, to “perform or perish”

Despite belonging to political opponent party, senior Congress leader and PPCC spokesperson Sunil Jakhar on August 13, 2016, visited Hero DMC Heart Institute, Ludhiana, to enquire about the health senior RSS leader, Jagdish Gagneja, who is undergoing treatment there.
It may be mentioned here that Gagneja was shot at by some miscreants in Jalandhar and seeing his condition serious he was shifted to Ludhiana-based hospital.
In his address to the media persons at Circuit House, Ludhiana, Jakhar, held responsible both the SAD-BJP combine responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation in Punjab. He categorically told that they (Congressmen) are equally concerned about health of RSS leader.
During his interaction, Jakhar, recalled the statement of the DGP Punjab that “57 gangs are operational in Punjab”. He alleged that these gangs were flourishing under “political patronage”. He asserted that the police should do something concrete to arrest these gangs instead of making statements alone.
Perhaps Jakhar is correct. Time has arrived to “perform or perish”.
The law and order situation is getting bad to worse over the past sometimes. Incidents of series of attacks have occurred in Punjab in the past. The government is failing to check recurrence of such incidents. Instead of taking strong preventive measures, the leaders of ruling SAD-BJP combine are indulging into the policy of blame-game just to save their skin. But, the question arises that for how long it would continue.
Now, when Punjab assembly elections are nearing, the whole political scenario is getting changed. Electorates of the state are more vigilant now. They really understand all moves of the politicians. There is a feel among masses that they cannot be “befooled” or “cheated” any more. Let us see what happened in the future course of time.
