Jalandhar, August 27, 2021: To commemorate the Women’s Equality Day, a Seminar was conducted at Ludhiana Military Station on 26th August 2021 keeping all COVID 19 precautions in mind. The theme of the event was “Choose to Challenge”. A Special lecture was conducted by Dr. Harpreet Singh, a renowned psychologist for the ladies of the station. He emphasized on the word “Challenge” and explained that with a positive will and intent, the women of today can achieve everything that has been holding them back.
Breaking the barriers of patriarchal mindset, since long the women in the Army have been a contributing force towards the culture and ethos of the Army fraternity. They are an inseparable part of the military family that members in millions. They share common experiences, values and feelings of being in soldier’s profession indirectly and standing besides them rock solid. Military spouses mission is to honour, assist and encourage spouses who keep the home fires burning as their loved one defend our freedom.
The attendees shared their experiences of working and challenges faced in dual responsibilities of work and home. The women of the Army family who have contributed to the society but remained unsung were felicitated and were thanked for indomitable spirit displayed by them.
In today’s era, women have proved that they are equal to men in all spheres of life. Women’s Equality Day marks the contribution of women in nation building.
