Transfer of Technology (ToT) Conference concluded at the Panjab University(PU) campus, today. Three significant Memorandums of Agreement (MoAs) were also signed during the two days event.

Chandigarh, November 23, 2024: Transfer of Technology (ToT) Conference concluded at the Panjab University(PU) campus, today. Three significant Memorandums of Agreement (MoAs) were also signed during the two days event. 

The conference was organised by the Technology Enabling Centre (TEC) of Panjab University Chandigarh, in collaboration with the Punjab State Council for Science & Technology (PSCST). 

TEC-PU and PSCST facilitated signing of an MoA between PU and Herbspark Nutraceuticals Pvt. Ltd. for the transfer of two patented technologies: a Cissus quadrangularis lipidic nano formulation for osteoporosis and a nano-emulsion beverage designed to increase bone density in osteoporotic patients. Another MoA was signed with Enparis Bio Pvt. Ltd. for joint research, development, and transfer of functionalized imidazoquinoline derivatives aimed at modulating TRL7/8 activity and enhancing vaccine performance. Additionally, the Technology Enabling Centre signed an MoA with the Dera Bassi Small Scale Industries Association (DBSSIA) to collaborate on addressing industry-specific challenges. 

As many as 60 scientists from 32 institutes across India presented their innovations to industry representatives interested in adopting and commercializing new technologies. In total, 67 technologies were showcased, including 19 in medical devices, 15 in pharmaceuticals, 16 in environment and energy, and 17 in engineering and related fields.

The conference focused on transferring technologies developed in academia to industry. During the conference, Scientists were given 10 minutes each to explain their inventions, which covered diverse domains such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, environment and energy, artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), and general engineering. 

On November 22, presentations focused on medical devices and pharmaceutical technologies, while November 23 featured technologies related to environment, energy, AI, IoT, and engineering. 

The conference proceedings were released by Professor C. R. Suri, Chairman of TEC, and Dr. Dapinder Kaur Bakshi, Joint Director of PSCST. These proceedings will be shared widely by TEC to facilitate further technology transfer opportunities. Professor Manu Sharma, Coordinator of TEC, urged industry representatives to explore the proceedings and engage with TEC for procurement or collaboration. He highlighted that Dr. Ajay Sharma, Senior Manager, TEC and Dr. Manpreet Singh, Scientist, PSCST are available to assist with inquiries regarding the presented technologies.

The conference was supported by the Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India, the Punjab State Council for Science & Technology, and Vardhman Chemtech Pvt. Ltd. The TEC initiative is funded by DST and is dedicated to enabling the commercialization of indigenous technologies developed.
