Total of 137 patients get cured in District Ludhiana
From May 20 onwards, 12 trains to depart from Ludhiana daily
Ludhiana: Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal has informed that till May 18, 2020, a total of 4966 samples of suspected patients have been taken in district Ludhiana, out of which report of 4540 samples have been received, 4309 samples are negative, while report of 426 is pending.
He informed that the total number of positive patients related to district Ludhiana is 159, while 72 patients are from other districts/states. He informed that till date, a total of 137 patients have been declared as cured in the district, and unfortunately, 7 persons have lost their lives. He informed that the patients discharged today include 29 from district Ludhiana, while one each from Ferozepur and Hoshiarpur.
Mr Agrawal said that the process of sending migrants to their home states is going on smoothly. He said that today, a total of 11 trains carrying around 1200 migrants each departed for Aurangabad, Sitamarhi, Akbarpur, Azamgarh, Gorakhpur, Hardoi, Basti, Unnao, Sultanpur and Gonda. He informed that from May 20 onwards, 12 trains would depart for different states daily.
A meeting in this regard was also held at Guru Nanak Stadium, here, which was attended by Commissioner of Police Mr Rakesh Kumar Agrawal, MC Commissioner Mrs Kanwal Preet Kaur Brar, besides other senior officials. /(May 18)
