Jalandhar, April 19, 2025: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (Autonomous) at the culmination of every academic session organises a pious Amar Jyoti function to give traditional warm blessings to the passing out of its portals. 

The chief guest on the 139th Amar Jyoti function was Neerja Chander Mohan, Member, KMV managing committee. The function was graced by other eminent dignitaries like Vice President KMV managing committee Dr. Sushma Chawla & members of KMV managing committee Sushila Bhagat, Shiv Mittal, Neeru Kapoor & Dr. S.P. Gupta. 

The function commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp and chanting of Gayatri Mantra. It was followed by chanting of hymns which have been sung for over 100 years now. It was followed by an inspiring and motivating address by Principal Dr. Atima Sharma Dwivedi who assured everyone that KMV has the unique distinction of implementing all the new progressive, professional education policies. She spoke about two students from the Hospitality Department who had been directly placed in the U.S. with a good package while pursuing their bachelors degree. The outgoing students then shared their nostalgia and emotions about leaving KMV. They reiterated that KMV had been the place that nurtured them professionally and personally for their future. They felt that KMV was the wind beneath their wings. Students who had acted as ambassadors for KMV were also honored. 

The function concluded with tilak and prasad distribution ceremony, with blessings to all students who were taking their exams for their degrees. 

Principal lauded the efforts of Dr. Madhumeet, Dr. Shalini Gulati, Dr. Poonam Sharma, and the whole organising committee for successfully organising the function.
