TRAGEDY: Mother, son crushed to death by LMC contractor’s vehicle

Ludhiana, January 22, 2013: A mother and her son were crushed to death by a vehicle allegedly belonging to a private company, which has been given contract of garbage collection from the city by Ludhiana Municipal Corporation (LMC).
The tragic incident occurred in the Daba Colony Area this afternoon when Shriram (14) was riding the bicycle and her mother Indu (45) was seated on the rear seat.
Both the mother and the son died on the spot.
The driver of the truck managed to flee from the spot after leaving the vehicle.
Police Division No. 6, have impounded the truck.
The bodies have been sent to Civil Hospital for conducting the postmortem.
A huge crowd had got assembled on the spot.
On hearing about the tragedy, the near and dear ones of the deceased arrived on the spot.
Police are making further investigations.
