CM expresses shock over
Ludhiana/Chandigarh, September 12, 2012: An explosion in the solvent tank at the factory premises of Sanjeev Agro Pvt. Ltd. in Focal Point, Khanna took place today.
As per the reports, five persons were killed and 15 were seriously injured.
The injured have been admitted into the hospitals. The cause of explosion is still now known.
The authorities concerned are trying to find out exact cause of occurrence of incident. Panic was created in the area after the incident.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has expressed profound grief and anguish over the tragic incident .
The chief minister has directed Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana to extend all possible help to the family members of the deceased and injured in this hour of crises. He also asked the district administration to provide the best medical treatment facilities to the injured free of cost and make necessary arrangements for the transportation of the bodies.
The Chief Minister also announced an ex-gratia amount of Rs. 1 lakh to the next of the kin of the deceased besides a financial assistance of Rs. 25,000 for the seriously injured.
The Chief Minister also expressed his heartfelt sympathies with the members of the bereaved families and prayed to the Almighty to give them courage to bear this irreplaceable loss and grant peace to the departed souls.
