EACH ANGANWADI WORKER WILL BE GIVEN AN ANNUAL DATA CHARGE OF RS. 2000
Chandigarh, June 9:
The Punjab Government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is continuously making efforts to improve the standard of living for children, women, minor girls, and the elderly in the state. To achieve this objective, Dr. Baljit Kaur, the Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development, stated that the nutrition tracker application is being implemented in Anganwadi centres by the department under the Poshan Abhiyan. The aim is to enhance the efficiency of Anganwadi centres in the state so that their activities can be monitored at the block, district, state, and national levels, ensuring transparent delivery of services to beneficiaries.
Providing further information, Dr. Baljit Kaur, the Minister of Social Security, Women and Child Development, explained that the Potion Tracker is a beneficiary-centric service delivery application that provides real-time data and analytics. The department has issued instructions to implement this application in 27,314 Anganwadi centres across the state from June 1, 2023. As part of this initiative, each Anganwadi worker will receive an annual data charge of Rs. 2000.
Dr. Baljit Kaur stated that to ensure successful implementation of this initiative and to enhance the capacity of Anganwadi workers, a training fortnight campaign has been organized by the department from June 1, 2023, to June 15, 2023. During this campaign, Anganwadi workers will be trained on how to use the nutrition tracker application. Training sessions will be conducted by nutrition staff at the circle and block levels, in coordination with District Program Officers, Child Project Officers, and Supervisors in all districts.
Dr. Baljit Kaur added that once trained, all Anganwadi workers in the state will be able to utilize the Nutrition Tracker application, eliminating the need for additional documents. Through this application, they will be able to perform various tasks online, including visiting beneficiary homes, distributing rations, registering children, monitoring development, and accessing information about services provided to beneficiaries. Additionally, Anganwadi workers will be eligible for other incentives under the Poshan Abhiyan.
Furthermore, she mentioned that this digitization process will not only ensure comprehensive digitization of data for Anganwadi Centres but also improve their overall functioning in the future.
The Minister emphasized that the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development, Punjab, is committed to providing better services and support to the weaker sections of society. The implementation of the Poshan Tracker application under the Poshan Abhiyan initiative is an important step towards achieving this goal.
