Training of NCC Cadets in full swing with combat Army Battalions

Jalandhar, January 23, 2025: About 210 cadets from four battalions of the NCC headquarters are undergoing military training with combat battalions in Jalandhar cantonment. Colonel Rishabh Hooda, Commanding Officer of Sikh Light Infantry, said that military training is being given to the cadets. Military instructors from various battalions have been deployed for training. The cadets visited the Artillery Regiment and the Rocket Regiment. They are getting an in-depth study of the lethal capabilities of the Army's modern guns and rockets. Cadets from various educational institutions of Hoshiarpur, Kapurthala, Phagwara and Jalandhar also visited Quarter Guard, JCO Mess and various offices and learned about their working. Cadets carefully learned the duties of guards stationed at quarter guard, battle and theater honors, and the importance of flags. Officer-in-charge Captain Arneesh Sehgal said that the cadets were accommodated in the quarters of soldiers of different infantry battalions so that they could learn the daily routine of the soldiers. Cadets wake up early and embrace the life of soldiers until late at night.
Captain Anrish Sehgal said that the cadets have been divided into four companies so that different competitions can be conducted among them. The cadets are learning about the firepower and assembling of the various weapons of the infantry battalion. On the fifth day of the 12-day long military induction camp, 2 Punjab NCC Battalion Commanding Officer Colonel Vinod Joshi delivered a three-hour speech on 17 types of commissions in the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force. In the evening, basketball, volleyball, football and tug-of-war competitions are being conducted.
Colonel Vinod Joshi said that Sikh Light Infantry is working vigorously on all-round personality development of cadets. Naib Subedar Kuldeep Singh and CHM Gurvinder Singh from 2 PB NCC Battalion have been deputed for training and discipline of cadets. The cadets are also preparing colorful programs on the wonderful history, culture and art of Punjab.
