Training on Ultrasonography Concludes at Vet Varsity
25 Veterinary Officers of Animal Husbandry Department, Punjab participated in a five days training programme at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana.
Ludhiana, February 6, 2024: 25 Veterinary Officers of Animal Husbandry Department, Punjab participated in a five days training programme at Guru Angad Dev Veterinary & Animal Sciences University, Ludhiana. The training was entitled “Hands-on training on reproductive ultrasonography for better reproductive management in small and large ruminants” and conducted by the Department of Veterinary Gynaecology and Obstetrics along with the Directorate of Extension Education. Dr. Mrigank Honparkhe, Technical Coordinator of the training highlighted that the participants were provided hands-on experience regarding ultrasonography in large ruminants. He highlighted that the participants were also trained regarding colour doppler, ultrasonography guided ovum pick-up and bull reproductive ultrasonography.
The valedictory function of the training was presided by Dr. Inderjeet Singh, Vice Chancellor. While interacting with the trainees, Dr. Inderjeet Singh highlighted the importance of ultrasonography in field conditions. He emphasized that all the veterinary polyclinics should be equipped with ultrasound related infrastructure as it has the potential for enhancing livestock productivity by improving reproduction and health of the animals. He urged the trainees to work the best of their capabilities for uplifting the livestock health services and serving the farming community.
Dr. Parkash Singh Brar, Director of Extension Education and Course Director congratulated the participants on successful completion of the training. He highlighted that such training is of immense importance to the field veterinarians which will aid in improving the overall animal healthcare and service delivery to the livestock farmers. He stated that this was the first training in the series of five trainings which are to be organized for the Veterinary Officers of Punjab. The training was coordinated by Dr. Navdeep Singh Ratta and Dr. Amandeep Singh.
