Training programme on micro-irrigation techniques in rabi crops kicks off at Regional Station, Bathinda
A five-day training programme on “Enhancing Irrigation Water Use Efficiency Through Micro-Irrigation Techniques in Wheat and other Rabi Crops" kicked off at Regional Research Station, Jodhpur Farm, Bathinda under NABARD sponsored project titled "Amelioration of barren undulated land to cotton-wheat crop systems through micro irrigation using saline water in semi-arid region of Punjab."
Ludhiana, October 11, 2023: A five-day training programme on “Enhancing Irrigation Water Use Efficiency Through Micro-Irrigation Techniques in Wheat and other Rabi Crops" kicked off at Regional Research Station, Jodhpur Farm, Bathinda under NABARD sponsored project titled "Amelioration of barren undulated land to cotton-wheat crop systems through micro irrigation using saline water in semi-arid region of Punjab."
Dr Anureet Kaur Dhaliwal, Senior Agronomist is Principal Investigator (PI), and Dr Harjeet Singh Brar, Agronomist is Co-PI of the project. Twenty-five participants from nearby villages of Bathinda district are participating in this training programme which will focus on use of micro irrigation in wheat and other rabi crops.
Dr KS Sekhon, Director, Regional Station (Bathinda), inaugurated the programme and specified sustainable agricultural practices for South-Western region of Punjab.
Dr GS Romana, Principal Agricultural Economist, explained strategies to reduce cost of cultivation in rabi crops.
