Tremors felt in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, March 21, 2023: Tremors were felt in Ludhiana this evening (at around 10-20 pm). The tremors were for a few seconds. A lot people rushed out of their respective homes.
Similar tremors were also felt in Jalandhar, Delhi-NCR and surrounding areas.   

An eyewitness said almirahs, bed and other things were seen shaking. 

Similar reports are from Ferozepur, Mohali and other parts of Punjab. 

More details are awaited. 
 

Meanwhile, Ludhiana-based Ar Sanjay Goel said, “Thank God , all are safe after a major earthquake felt all over Ludhiana - Punjab - North India although epicenter was in neighbouring country (Hindu Kush region).

He asserted that people and the government as well must go for earthquake resistant structures/ buildings only.

“It’s not earthquake that kills people but its buildings only, so our buildings must be very-very strong ( earthquake resistant)”, said Ar Goel.

It may be mentioned here that Ar Goel us also a Director of Ludhiana Smart City Ltd (LSCL).

People were seen discussing in WhatsApp groups. Many people were sharing their personal experiences such as "Very high intensity earthquake", "All is ok", "All is well". 

People also did prayers for safety and protection of everyone.

Many people were asleep during the time of tremor. 

A lot of people switched on tv sets at their homes after tremors were over to know latest information. 

No loss of life and peoperty has been reported so far.
