Jalandhar, August 13, 2023: Under the auspices of the ongoing Awareness Programme on Tribal Empowerment, a unique and engaging activity Face Painting and the adoption of tribal attire was carried out in conjunction with the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration and was a collaborative effort between the Government's Ministry Programme and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The activity was initiated by Heritage club of DRV DAV Centenary Public School, Phillaur on August 12, with enthusiastic participation from the students of Class 7. The event centered around two key components: face painting and donning tribal attires. Students had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the cultural nuances of various tribes by adorning their faces with traditional patterns and designs. This interactive form of expression allowed the participants to connect with the essence of tribal identity.
Principal, Dr Yogesh Gambhir opined that such activities provide an immersive learning experience beyond textbooks and classroom lectures. By actively engaging with tribal cultures through face painting and attire, the students gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of preserving and respecting indigenous traditions.
