Tribute to Kargil War Martyrs held at DCSA, PU

Chandigarh August 1, 2024: The Department of Computer Science and Applications at Panjab University held a solemn event on Monday to honour the brave soldiers who were martyred in the Kargil War. The tribute included a series of activities designed to remember the sacrifices made by these heroes and their families.

Chairperson Anuj Sharma and Coordinator Kavita Taneja addressed the gathering, emphasizing the importance of remembering the valor and dedication of the soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation. "Their courage and sacrifice are the bedrock of our nation's freedom and security," said Chairperson. Coordinator added, "It is our duty to honour their memory and teach the younger generation about their bravery."

The event featured a quiz and a series of quotes related to the Kargil War, engaging students in a thoughtful reflection on the significance of the conflict. Additionally, a 20-minute video was presented to both faculty and students, vividly showcasing the sacrifices of the soldiers and their families. The video resonated deeply with the audience, highlighting the personal stories of courage and loss. Alumni who made significant contributions to the Indian Army were also showcased, celebrating their dedication and service.

To recognize the efforts and achievements of participants, winners of the quiz were awarded trophies and certificates. All participants received participation certificates as a token of appreciation for their involvement. Furthermore, volunteers who worked tirelessly to make the event a success were honoured with medals, acknowledging their dedication and effort.
