Says this Flying Sikh inspired generations of sports enthusiasts
Jalandhar: It’s quite saddening to know about the demise of one of India's biggest sporting icons, ace sprinter Milkha Singh, after a month-long battle with COVID-19. The Padma Shri awardee, who was nicknamed as 'The Flying Sikh' for his accomplishments, visited CT Group of Institutions in the year 2014 at 7th CT Half Marathon. We have lost a Gem. He will always remain as an inspiration for every Indian. May his soul Rest in peace.
CT Group Chairman Charanjit S Channi said, “We had the honor to meet Milkha Singh in one of our half marathons where we all actually realized his spirit and passion for athletics. He was a down to earth sportsperson and will be remembered forever. His laurels had not only made India swell with pride but also inspired generations of sports enthusiasts.”
