Prior to this, several dignitaries, including Himachal Pradesh's Una MLA Satpal Satti and MP Suresh Bharadwaj, visited Sanjay Tandon's residence to offer their condolences.
During the ceremony, Sanjay Tandon’s son, Satyam Tandon, dedicated a bhajan in memory of his grandmother.
Recalling his mother's words, Sanjay Tandon became emotional and, with teary eyes, expressed that having parents at home is a great blessing. "First my father, and now my mother's presence is no longer with me. Every morning, I would go to have tea with her in her room and talk for hours. She would lovingly stroke my head and effortlessly solve any problems I had. That will never happen again. She faced many ups and downs in her life. During the Emergency, it felt like a mountain had fallen on her. My father was imprisoned, and my mother raised us without ever bowing down to the government. Her courage became a priceless lesson for all of us, teaching us to fight with full strength during difficult times.
She kept our entire family united, showering love on both the young and the old. I recall with tears that my grandchildren understand that if they wanted to escape my scolding, they would hide behind their grandmother because I could never speak in front of her. We will all feel her absence for the rest of our lives."
