Trident Group Chairman Rajinder Gupta, re-appointed as Chairman of reconstituted Board of Governors of PEC
The Board of Governors constitution is for a period of three years with effect from the date of notification
Chandigarh: The Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University) on Thursday reconstituted the Board of Governors with Chairman Trident Group Rajinder Gupta continuing in his post as Chairman of the board. Mr Gupta has been holding this office since 2018.
Rajinder Gupta founder chairman of Trident Group and a Padam Shree Awardee is known for his philanthropic works and is always lauded on various national forums for his indefatigable contribution in the field of education and welfare of women. Gupta is a top entrepreneur of the country with a vast experience of industrial and philanthropic ventures in the last two decades.
The reconstitution of the board has been approved by V.P.Singh Badnore, Administrator, U.T., Chandigarh as per the notification issued by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Secondary & Higher Education, Government of India, New Delhi on 16.10.2003 in line with Clause 5(A) of the Bye-laws of PEC University of Technology Society registered vide Registration No.3586 of 2003.
The newly constituted Board of Governors includes three prominent industrialists who are also PEC Alumni. They are Praveer Sinha CEO and MD Tata power Company Limited, Amit Syngle MD and CEO Asian Paints Limited and Gurpratap Singh Boparai Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Limited. Other new inclusions are two Professors of the institute Prof. Siby John and Prof Uma Batra. Similarly members of outgoing Board Kiran Malhotra and Prof Arun Kumar Grover have also found place in the new Board.
