Ludhiana, October 4, 2019: In elections held recently to Punjab Cricket Association (PCA), affiliated to the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Trident Group CMD Rajinder Gupta has been unanimously elected president to PCA for consecutive second term. The other office-bearers nominated are as under: Rakesh Rathour (vice president), Puneet Bali (secretary), Surjit Rai (joint secretary), Ram Parkash Singla (treasurer). The representatives of the affiliated District Cricket Associations are as under: Daljit Singh (Hoshiarpur District Cricket Association), Arun Sharma (Ludhiana District Cricket Association), Karukeya Swaroop (Ferozepur District Cricket Association), Virinderjit S Billing (Patiala Cricket Association), Kamal Arora (District Cricket Association Moga), Ajay Tyagi (Mohali District Cricket Association), Arvind Abrol (Kapurthala District Cricket Association); Members from Life Members are as under: Rakesh Walia (Patiala), Dr Atul Sachdeva (Chandigarh), Preet Mohinder Singh banga (Mohali); Representatives from the clubs/colleges/institutions are as under: Sanjeev Arora (Ludhiana Club). Another report says: PCA HOLDS ITS 71ST ANNUAL GENERAL BODY MEETING - RAJINDER GUPTA RE-ELECTED AS PRESIDENT The 71st Annual General Body meeting of Punjab Cricket Association was held at Dhruv Pandove Conference Hall, I.S. Bindra Stadium, PCA Mohali. The meeting started with members standing in silence for two minutes remembering Suresh Luthra, Megh Raj, Gokul Inderdev, Prof. R.D. Bansal, Gurbachan Singh Banga, Ramesh Chander Kohli, O.D. Sharma, Sham Lal, Jugal Kishore Garg players and members of PCA who demised during the intervening period of last AGM and present AGM. The secretary R.P. Singla then presented the minutes of Annual General Meetings 15.9.2018 and 1.7.2019 which were passed by the House. The Honorary Secretary then read out the salient features of the Annual Report for the year 2018-2019 which were later adopted by the House. The Honorary Treasurer, Mr. Ajay Tyagi presented the audited Balance Sheet of the association as on 31.3.2019 and Income & Expenditure Statement for the year 2018-2019 which was duly adopted by the House. The Election Process was initiated by Rajeev Sharma, IAS (Retd.) Former State Election Commissioner (Haryana), who declared that the since only one nomination had been received against each post and the same has been found valid as such there would be no need of voting. He then announced the names of Office Bearers and members of Apex Council elected unanimously. Office Bearers: President Rajinder Gupta, Vice President Rakesh Rathour, Honorary Secretary Puneet Bali, Honorary Jt. Secretary Surjit Rai, Honorary Treasurer Ram Parkash Singla. After the unanimous election, the President Rajinder Gupta thanked the members for their cooperation and keeping up the old tradition of the association for maintaining unanimity during the elections. He wished and hoped that the PCA will strive to achieve its cherished goals. Puneet Bali, the duly elected Honorary Secretary who has been a first class cricketer himself while thanking the members for electing him to the post promised that he would make all out efforts to see that the Punjab State Cricket Teams under all age groups including the senior make a significant mark in the domestic circuit and he further wished that he would like to see 5-6 players of the state donning the India Colours in various age groups Under-19/ Under-23 and Senior. On his part he would strive to maintain hassle free work culture and relationship between various district cricket associations. The House unanimously endorsed the name of Rakesh Rathour Vice President of the Association to be PCA’s representative at the Annual Body Meeting of the BCCI to be held on 23rd October,2019 at Mumbai.
