Chandigarh, March 4, 2022: In the Punjab Vs Tripura match being played at Arun Jaitley Stadium, New Delhi, Punjab had won the toss and elected to field first. On day 1 Team Tripura could score only 127 runs in their 1st innings.

On day 2 today, continuing from 79/7, Punjab was bowled out for 120 runs and Tripura made an excellent comeback in the match. For Punjab Anmol Malhotra was the highest scorer with 30 runs in 59 balls .  Tripura’s M B Mura Singh claimed 6/48, A S Sarkar 3/47 & Saurabh Das claimed 1 wicket. 

Tripura in their 2nd innings had a shaky start with some early wickets.  Team was 73/6 in 29 over’s when Tripura’s M B Mura Singh took charge of the batting also and stitched an important partnership of 129 runs with SS Ghosh.  Mura Singh scored 85 runs in 91 balls with 10 boundaries and 2 sixes. The other main contributor for Tripura was SS Ghosh who scored 55 runs in 103 balls. 

Punjab Bowlers played a critical role again today and limited Tripura in 2nd innings to 232 runs. Arshdeep claimed 5/33, Siddarth Kaul 2/57 and Abhishek Sharma took 3/23.

Two more days of the match are still left and Punjab now requires 240 runs to win this match.
