Two arrested for printing fake currency at home
The police have arrested two persons identified as Jaskaran Singh alias Rajan and Akash (21) alias Ladda, both residents of Basti Machhian in Zira sub-division, for printing and circulating fake currency notes. The police have also recovered fake currency worth Rs.3.42 lakh from them.
Ferozepur, August 5, 2024: The police have arrested two persons identified as Jaskaran Singh alias Rajan and Akash (21) alias Ladda, both residents of Basti Machhian in Zira sub-division, for printing and circulating fake currency notes. The police have also recovered fake currency worth Rs.3.42 lakh from them.
While divulging more details, SSP Saumya Mishra said that the accused Jaskaran Singh, was fond of playing PUBG game and had met a person on internet who taught him how to print fake notes. “The accused then ordered a printer, ink, and paper available on online shopping portals and started printing fake currency at home”, said SSP Mishra.
“Following the inputs, a raid was conducted at Satiyewala where Jaskaran had come to deliver the fake currency. Later the police nabbed his accomplice Akash alias Ladda as per information provided by Jaskaran.
“The police had recovered Rs.65700 in FCN of Rs. 100, 2.13 Lakh of 200 Rs notes and Rs. 63500 of Rs. 500 FCN. The accused used to spend this money at small shops and for gambling”, said SSP.
As per information, Jaskaran’s father had passed away few years ago and had worked as a courier while the other accused Akash, was a class 12 pass out and was involved in circulating the fake currency.
The SSP said that a case has been registered at Kulgari police station and the accused are being questioned to determine how long they had been printing fake currency.
