Jalandhar, February 24, 2015: The Two-day UGC sponsored National Seminar organized by PG Department of Commerce and Business Administration of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya concluded ceremoniously in a valedictory function. 

The Guests of Honour, Dr.Balwinder Singh, Associate Professor, Department of Commerce and Business Management, GNDU and Dr.Nachhattar Singh, Principal, Cooperative Staff Training Institute, Jalandhar were accorded floral felicitations on the occasion.  In his valedictory address, Dr.Nachhattar Singh stated that the pertinent question that is assuming strategic importance is whether there has been a metamorphic transformation in the financial sector due to the reforms process.  Dr.Balwinder Singh expressed his deep satisfaction over the conduct of such seminars which aim to foster an environment for upgradation of the skills and knowledge of young scholars who may join financial sector tomorrow as budding entrepreneurs and control effectively various operation pertaining to it.

Earlier, the proceedings of the second day of the National Seminar took off with the third technical session.  The session was chaired by Dr. Manjit Singh, Punjabi University, Patiala and co-chaired by Dr. Mandeep Kaur, GNDU, Amritsar.  Many eminent academicians namely Dr. Abhay Jain, SRCC, Delhi and Dr. Sukhpreet Singh, Dept. of Chemistry, GNDU also graced the occasion.  During the session, participants presented their papers related to various constituents of Financial Sector like Stock Exchange, Banking System, financial services etc. delving deep into the contemporary issues like financial inclusion, e-banking etc.  The session came to a close with an intellectual interaction with the subject experts.

The organising secretary of the seminar Rashmi Sharma read out a detailed report of the proceedings of the two days informing that as many as 140 papers were presented.  The college Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi congratulated the Head of commerce Department and the organising team on the completion of this very meaningful and successful venture and thanked the distinguished guests, erudite scholars and researchers for adding stature to the event.
