Chandigarh July 27, 2024: The two-day orientation program for new students of B.Sc. (Honours) in Fashion and Lifestyle Technology (4 years programme as per NEP 2020) was organized to acquaint students with the program's academic rigor and practical aspects.
The orientation programme began with a warm welcome from Dr. Prabhdip Brar, setting a positive tone for the event. An interactive session facilitated student-faculty bonding, while a senior-junior interaction promoted community spirit. Lectures on NSS and fashion marketing by Dr. Anu H Gupta and Ms. Arushi Puri, respectively, enriched students' understanding of social responsibility and marketing strategies. The programme continued with insightful lectures by Dr. Ramandeep Bawa on career prospects, Ms. Deepa on garment care labels, and Dr. Parneet Brar on the design process.
Dr. Prabhdip Brar's session on the intersection of art and everyday life provided a unique perspective. The program concluded with visits to key departments, enhancing students' familiarity with Panjab University's campus. Overall, the orientation aimed to holistically prepare students for their academic journey while fostering a sense of belonging within the department.
