Two day student research convention
Around 85 students from 15 universities participated
Amity University Haryana in collaboration with Association of Indian Universities organized ANVESHAN 2019-2020, a two day Student Research Convention (North Zone) on 16th – 17th January at Amity University Haryana.
ANVESHAN is organized every year in five different zones of the country (i.e North, South, Center, East and West). This year AUH has been given this opportunity to host this prestigious event and students from the Amity University Haryana also participated in the event. The idea of organizing ANVESHAN is to identify young talents with research aptitude and interest to take up research as career option, to promote the talent in research throughout the country, to nurture the talent through specialized training and education in some of the nationally and internationally reputed premier institutions of higher learning in the country and to provide proper incentives to enhance the skill of the students with potential.
Around 85 students from 15 Universities of Northern Indian States (LPU, Manav Rachna University, SGT University, Ch Bansi Lal University, NDRI-Karnal etc) had participated in this two day event.
The awards were divided into five categories which includes Agriculture, Basic & Applied Sciences, Engineering & Technology, Health Sciences and Allied Subjects, Pharmacy, Nutrition, etc. and Social Sciences, Humanities, Commerce and Law (Objective and Result Oriented Projects). Winners from each category in Zonal level competitions will be eligible to participate in National level Student Research Convention. The final winners at National Level students’ research convention will be awarded Cash Prizes along with Certificates and Mementos. The amount of Cash Prize for first position holders is Rs. 75,000, second Position Rs. 50,000, and third position Rs. 25,000. One best project will be selected across all the five categories which will be awarded a Gold Medal along with the cash Prize and certificate.
The Chief Guest of the inaugural function Dr (Mrs) Pankaj Mittal, Secretary General, Association of Indian Universities while addressing the gathering on 16th Jan, 2020 mentioned, “ANVESHAN is to create innovation in higher education sector. Students have to step up and have to always be keen to discover new innovations. ”
Dr Amrendra Pani, Assistant Director, AIU talked about the economy growth in India and he also emphasized the role of the youth in research & innovations.
Prof (Dr) P B Sharma, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Haryana while motivating the students said, “Programs like ANVESHAN are for making a better India. Research and Innovation requires no money but idea only.”
Sh. P. Somarajan, CEO, Atal Innovation Foundation, IIT, New Delhi, Dr. Padmakali Banerjee, Pro-Vice Chancellor, AUH, Prof. S.N. Sridhara, Director ASET, Dr. Sunil Sikka, Associate Professor, ASET, Mr Manish Bharti, Assistant Professor, ASET were also present with participants, faculty and students.
