Ferozepur: Ferozepur police have arrested an Ex-Sarpanch and a commission agent under NDPS Act and have recovered 2 kg opium and also a car from them.
While divulging more details, Bhagirath Singh Meena SSP said that the accused identified as Gurpreet Singh (35) and Pargat Singh (50), residents of Village Jhoke Nodh Singh in Mamdot block were arrested. “Following the inputs, a naka was laid by the police at Ferozepur-Moga road under the flyover and the accused were arrested. During the search of their car, 2 Kg opium was recovered from a transparent plastic bag. One of the accused Gurpreet Singh is a commission agent while the other accused Pargat Singh, is an Ex-Sarpanch. More revelations are expected in this case during the upcoming days ”, said Meena.
A case under 18,61,85 NDPS Act was registered against the accused at Kulgarhi police station (FIR No. 76 Dated 19.07.2021).
