Two Indian drug smugglers nabbed by CI Wing
A case under the NDPS Act has been registered against the accused at Arif Ke Police Station
Ferozepur: Sleuths belonging to Counter Intelligence Wing have nabbed two cross-border drug smugglers identified as Rajwinder Singh alias Raju resident of Village Serowal in Ludhiana district and his accomplice Joginder Singh, a resident of Village Sultan Wala in this district.
Divulging details, Bhagirath Singh Meena SSP said following the inputs the police had nabbed the main accused Rajwinder near Village Katora. “The police had the information that the accused had links with the Pakistani smugglers and was involved in the smuggling of drugs. He was in constant touch with them with the help of mobile and social media. His friend Joginder was working as a servant with a farmer Aatma Singh, who had agricultural land across the fencing near gate number 177/11). Both the accused, Rajwinder and Joginder used to bring consignment of the heroin in the fields of Aatma Singh. On the basis of the information provided by Rajwinder following his arrest, the police recovered 440-gram heroin from the fields situated near BoP Kulwant.
“The police have also recovered one mobile phone (Vivo brand) and two SIM from them. The accused were produced in the court of Judicial Magistrate Hargurjit Kaur and were sent for four days police remand. The police also doing the forensic analysis of the SIM cards which have been recovered from the accused. More revelations are expected in this case during the upcoming days”, said SSP Meena.
A case under 21, 23, 29, 61, 85 NDPS was registered against the accused at Arif Ke Police Station (FIR No. 16 Dated 19.03.2021).
