UBS, Ludhiana organized talk on Param Vir Chakra Awardee Captain Vikram Batra

Ludhiana, October 1, 2021: As a part of ongoing nationwide campaign – Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav, University Business School, Panjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana organized an online talk on the life story of Captain Vikram Batra. Captain Batra was honored with India’s highest and most prestigious gallantry award – Param Vir Chakra in 1999 for his outstanding courage, leadership and supreme sacrifice in the Kargil War. Mr. Vishal Batra, twin brother of Captain Vikram Batra was the speaker for the session. Mr. Vishal Batra is presently working as Business Head – North (General manager) with ICICI Bank. He spoke on the topic, “Leadership Lessons from the Life of Captain Vikram Batra”.
Prof. (Dr.) Arti Puri, Director, Panjab University Regional centre, Ludhiana welcomed the guests and the participants. While addressing the students, she appreciated “Bharat Ka Amrut Mahotsav” as an initiative of the Government of India to commemorate 75 years of progressive India and the glorious history of its people, culture and achievements. She highlighted that this campaign will be playing a very effective role in familiarizing the present generations with the history of our nation, especially the struggle for the freedom.
Mr. Vishal Batra shared the different experiences, thoughts and leadership lessons that he learned from the life of his brother Captain Vikram Batra and also from his corporate career of more than 20 years. During his power pact talk, he stressed that ‘No short cuts in the life’ is the approach of great leaders. He said that clear communication with his team and leading from the front are the golden principles for effective leadership. He shared important tips with the students to be successful corporate professional. He stressed that gaining professional knowledge and competence is the cardinal attribute for a successful corporate career. Session was concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Shashi Kapoor, Coordinator (MBA) at UBS, Ludhiana.
