UCPMA Elections: Final valid voter list displayed

Ludhiana, August 28, 2019: The elections process for the forthcoming elections of the Office Bearers of Asia’s Single Product Largest Association, United Cycle & Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA), Ludhiana, scheduled for the 5th September 2019 is on.

Today was the last day to file objections on the Draft Voter List upto 4:00 PM. The Draft Voter List had been put on the Notice Board of UCPMA office located at Gill Road, on 27-08-2019, yesterday

Since no objections to the Draft Voter List have been received from any of the members, it was declared by Presiding Officer that the Draft Voter List was now the Final Valid Voter List, constituting 1589 members, eligible to exercise their sacred right of vote on the scheduled day, that is 5th day of September 2019.

Till date the election process has been quite orderly & as per the schedule.

The total number of members of association is 2083 out of which 494 members failed to deposit annual subscription as on 31-03-2019, by 21st August 2019, the date fix for finally remitting the overdue subscription. But it was satisfying to mention that a sum of Rs. 5.52 Lacs was deposted by the members as pending subscription after declaration of election, out of which approximately Rs. 2.5 Lacs was remitted on 21st August 2019 that is last day for payment of pending subscription. This shows the extent of enthusiasm amongst the UCPMA members for participating in the election.

The Presiding Officer Er. D.M. Singh, is assisted by two members from the industry, namely Kulwinder Sigh Benipal (President of Focal Point Welfare Association) Ludhiana and Lalit Sharma of M/s K. Sharma & Sons, in the election committee. There is lot of excitement about contesting for various post of Office Bearers where are 8 positions viz President, Sr. Vice President, Vice President, Gen. Secretary, Secretary, Joint Secretary, Prop. Secretary, Finance Secretary. Till date a total numbers of 22 nomination proposal forms have been bought & the last date of submission of duly filled in nomination form is 31st August 2019. The final list of contestants after withdrawal shall be clear on 2nd September 2019.

The Presiding Officer cautioned the warring groups or individuals against promoting Casteism & mudslinging or Character assassination. Further it was appealed by Presiding Officer to all the members & the Industry leaders not to hold any congregation at the place of industrial activity & disturb the environment. However, the contesting parties were free to organise gatherings to canvas & explain their programs & merits to the members to get their precious vote, but no liquor and hard drinks should be used in any such gathering. No banners or canvassing is allowed in the UCPMA premises. The members shall be allowed to vote by BIO-MATRIC CARD or SPECIAL ID-CARD issued by the Presiding Officer. Code of ethics should be observed by one & all strictly, the Presiding Officer asserted.

It was informed that all the arrangements for the polling day, 5th September 2019 are on full stream & free & fair election are assured.
