UGC Team visits Guru Kashi University

Talwandi Sabo, February 8, 2014: High powered inspection team appointed by UGC under the chairmanship of Dr. K Manimeklai, Vice Chancellor, Mother Teresa Women University visited Guru Kashi University. Before starting its deliberation the team members paid obeisance at Takhat Sri Damdama Sahib, Talwandi Sabo, where they were blessed with siropas by the Head Granthi Giani Jagtar Singh & the manager Jagpal Singh.    
On arrival at the campus the team was welcomed by Chairman Gurlabh Singh Sidhu, staff & students.
Dr. Nachattar Singh Malhi, Vice Chancellor of the university in his report, presented to the committee informed the university is meeting educational needs of the Malwa region particularly rural areas in the specialized fields of Engineering Agriculture, Basic Sciences, Physical Education, Computer Science, Commerce & Management. The university has also started initiatives for generation & dissemination of new technologies relating to these areas. Besides programmes are being chalked out for eradication of social evils like, dowry, drug addiction, female feticide, etc.
While addressing the students at the end of cultural progamme, presented by them, the chairman of UGC Team expressed her pleasure & appreciation as she watched the culture of northern India through a variety of dances.
