UIAMS organized one-day workshop on "Essential Soft Skills for Placements" 

Chandigarh, February 13, 2024: The University Institute of Applied Management Sciences, Panjab University (UIAMS), organized a one-day workshop on "Essential Soft Skills for Placements" sponsored by the Rashtriya Uchatar Siksha Abhiyaan (RUSA) on Tuesday.

The workshop aimed to delve into key areas such as "Understanding Yourself," "Body Language of Winners and Interview Etiquette," and "Personal Branding on Linkedin." Distinguished experts in their respective fields led the workshop, including Dr Sohan Singh, a renowned Psychologist and life coach; Dr Urvashi Bhatia, a certified presenter trainer, Cambridge University and Train the Trainer certified by Banker’s Quotient Academy; and DrSneha Sharma, an expert in LinkedIn branding strategies. The workshop provided a platform to learn and understand the importance of soft skills in career development, empowering participants to excel in their future endeavors. 

Soft skills, encompassing interpersonal abilities such as communication, teamwork, leadership, adaptability, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence, were emphasized throughout the workshop as critical components for success in placements and professional growth.Dr. Sohan Singh's presentation focused on understanding oneself and the power of self-awareness in professional growth. Dr Urvashi Bhatia shared valuable insights on body language and interview etiquette, emphasizing the significance of non-verbal communication in a successful interview. Dr Sneha Sharma discussed the importance of personal branding on LinkedIn and leveraging the platform for professional networking. The seminar was attended by faculty members and the students of UIAMS. 

Prof. Monika Aggarwal, Director, UIAMS, Panjab University welcomed the speakers and the participants and highlighted the importance of soft skills in professional life. The Seminar was organized by the faculty and students of UIAMS, Panjab University. The question-and-answer session allowed participants to engage with the speakers. The event concluded with closing remarks from Dr Arunachal Khosla, who extended gratitude to the speakers and attendees for their active participation and emphasized the importance of continuously developing and honing soft skills for success in their Professional life.
