UIAMS, PU conducted road safety awareness workshop
The University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University conducted a road safety awareness workshop on Tuesday "Sadak Suraksha Jivan Raksha" in collaboration with Chandigarh Traffic Police which is celebrating its 35th Road Safety Month 2024 (15th January to 14th February 2024).
Chandigarh, February 13, 2024: The University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS), Panjab University conducted a road safety awareness workshop on Tuesday "Sadak Suraksha Jivan Raksha" in collaboration with Chandigarh Traffic Police which is celebrating its 35th Road Safety Month 2024 (15th January to 14th February 2024).
The seminar was held to raise awareness of road safety and the importance of safeguarding lives. The expert speaker at the seminar was DSP Jaswinder Singh, DSP Chandigarh, Chandigarh Traffic Police. During the seminar, the expert discussed important topics such as the importance of helmet usage, the significance of seatbelts, and the dangers of distracted driving.
He also shared valuable tips on how to recognize and avoid potential road hazards, as well as the importance of following traffic rules and regulations. For participants, the workshop was an invaluable resource for gaining knowledge and understanding of important road safety issues.
Prof. Monika Aggarwal, Director, UIAMS, Panjab University welcomed the esteemed speaker. She highlighted the importance of a collective effort in raising awareness and promoting safe driving practices to ensure a safer and more accident-free society.
The workshop was coordinated by Dr Amandheer Kapoor, Faculty, UIAMS, Punjab University. The seminar concluded with a Q&A session, allowing participants to actively engage and ask questions regarding road safety.
The speaker was thanked for his initiative in spreading awareness about potential road hazards and the importance of following traffic rules and regulations amongst the youth.
