UIET, Panjab University Celebrates Graduation and Alumni Reconnect at Annual Degree Award Ceremony
The University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Panjab University, Chandigarh, proudly celebrated a historic milestone today, as approximately 500 students received their degrees in various disciplines during the annual Degree Award Ceremony. The event highlighted the exceptional achievements of the institute and its graduates, marking a significant moment in their academic journey.
Chandigarh December 20, 2024: The University Institute of Engineering and Technology (UIET), Panjab University, Chandigarh, proudly celebrated a historic milestone today, as approximately 500 students received their degrees in various disciplines during the annual Degree Award Ceremony. The event highlighted the exceptional achievements of the institute and its graduates, marking a significant moment in their academic journey.
The Chief Guest, Shri Atul Karwal, IPS (Retd.) delivered an inspiring address, motivating students to be passionate about their goals while upholding their character. He emphasised the importance of integrity, urging the young graduates to avoid corruption and stay true to their principles in their personal and professional lives.
PU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Renu Vig, shared her good wishes, expressing pride in the success of the students and their bright futures. PU Registrar Prof. Y.P. Verma addressed the students as the Brand Ambassador of PU, encouraging them to tap into their internal strength to shape their future and continue to represent the values of the university with pride.
Earlier delivering the welcome address, Director UIET Prof. Sanjeev Puri extended heartfelt congratulations to the graduating class and their families. His speech set an inspiring tone for the day, and he presented the annual report, reflecting on the institute’s stellar accomplishments and forward-looking vision.
The event continued with the Annual Alumni Meet, which provided a wonderful opportunity for alumni to reconnect with their alma mater. It served as a platform to rekindle old friendships, engage with current students and faculty, and share insights. The alumni meet commenced with opening remarks by Prof. Sanjeev Puri, Director of UIET, who updated the alumni on the institution’s recent accomplishments and future plans.
A captivating singing performance by talented students and alumni added a melodious touch to the event, followed by an interactive session where alumni shared their stories, inspiring the audience and exchanging ideas with current students and faculty.
The day concluded with a High Tea, offering attendees the chance to reflect on the events of the day, reconnect with old friends, and create lasting memories.
