Chandigarh, December 23, 2023: University Institute of Engineering and Technology, Panjab University hosted an exhilarating Alumni Meet on Saturday.
The event that was managed by Student Team for Alumni Relations STAR UIET, brought together graduates from various batches to celebrate shared memories, forge new connections, and celebrate accomplishments at their alma mater. The event was a testament to the enduring spirit of the institute's community and the impactful journeys undertaken by its alumni. The Alumni Meet kicked off with a warm welcome and registration process.
A warm and enlightening welcome speech was delivered by the Director of UIET , Prof. JK Goswamy talking about UIET’s vibrant and connected alumni culture. He nominated Mr. Sumit Grover, Sr Vice President of Tech Mahindra, as the President of UIET Global Alumni Association to a resounding audience. His vision is to widen the alumni network to consist of Chapters in India, USA , Europe, Oceania, and Asia.
The 3rd Edition of the Annual Newsletter was launched by Prof. Goswamy, Prof. Kalpana Dahiya, Dr.Charu Madhu, and esteemed alumnus Sumit Grover. Engaging open panel discussions were organized, featuring prominent alumni who have made significant strides in their respective fields. These sessions provided valuable insights, advice, and inspiration to current students and recent graduates, fostering a sense of mentorship.
The Alumni proposed the idea of industrial visits, projects and providing paid internships for students of 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students. The event also featured Alumni Recognition Awards, honoring outstanding individuals who have demonstrated excellence in their fields or made significant contributions to society. The awardees shared their success stories, motivating and inspiring the audience. To add a touch of entertainment, a cultural extravaganza showcased the diverse talents of the alumni community. Performances ranged from music and dance to stand-up comedy, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere.
