University Institute of Engineering & Technology (UIET), Panjab University (PU) today hosted MHRD Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC) sponsored International Symposium on the topic “Nanotechnology; Fabrication, Characterization and Application”.

Chandigarh, November 13, 2024: University Institute of Engineering & Technology (UIET), Panjab University (PU) today hosted MHRD Scheme for Promotion of Academic and Research Collaboration (SPARC) sponsored International Symposium on the topic “Nanotechnology; Fabrication, Characterization and Application”.
 
The SPARC is aimed to improve the research ecosystem at Indian Higher Education Institutions by facilitating academic and research collaborations between Indian institutions and the best institutions globally. It provides funding to support joint research projects between Indian researchers and their international counterparts.
 
Professor Mohsen Rahmani from the School of Science and Technology at Nottingham Trent University, UK was the keynote speaker at the event organised by UIET Biotechnology Branch in association with Society for Biological Engineering.
 
Prof. Rahmani discussed about recent advancements, emerging trends, career pathways in the field. He inspired students with his perspectives and experiences emphasising about the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration, innovation, and practical skills. After the talk; Prof. Rahmani interacted with undergraduate, postgraduate students, research scholars, faculty members and addressed their individual queries.
 
Professor Rahmani's visit was part of the prestigious UKIERI-SPARC collaboration, bringing together leading minds in India and UK. He is collaborating with Dr. Gaurav Sapra, Associate Professor, and Professor Rajesh Kumar of UIET, as well as with Dr. Ankur Gupta from the Department of Cardiology, PGIMER, Chandigarh.
