UIHTM organising week long activities to commemorate World Tourism Day 2024
University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management, Panjab University Chandigarh is organizing week long activities to celebrate World Tourism Day 2024. Director UIHTM, Dr. Jaswinder Kumar informed that the weeklong activities would conclude on September 27 and this year’s theme is ‘Tourism and Peace’.

Chandigarh, September 23, 2024: University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management, Panjab University Chandigarh is organizing week long activities to celebrate World Tourism Day 2024. Director UIHTM, Dr. Jaswinder Kumar informed that the weeklong activities would conclude on September 27 and this year’s theme is ‘Tourism and Peace’.
In order to propagate the theme of ‘Tourism and Peace’, the UIHTM is organising activities to spread awareness of peace through tourism. He informed that UIHTM organized heritage tour in Chandigarh to various heritage monuments and buildings of Chandigarh on Sunday.
A flash mob was organized by UIHTM students today to spread the awareness of tourism and peace through various cultural performances. UIHTM would be organising various events and competitions like Heritage tour to Virsat-e-khalsa, Tourism Quiz, Rangoli, Photography competitions, 3 D model making, treasure hunt, fashion show and Bhangra competition during the week.
The Bhangra competition and fashion show would be organized on Friday i.e. World Tourism day, which would be the main event.
