Under 'Disha- An Initiative', Innocent Hearts' students were made aware on the occasion of 'World Sight Day'

Jalandhar, October 10, 2024: Under 'Disha- An Initiative' (run by Bowry Memorial Educational and Medical Trust), 'World Sight Day' was celebrated in all the five schools of Innocent Hearts (Green Model Town, Loharan, Noorpur Road, Cantt.- Jandiala Road and Kapurthala Road) to make students aware about visual impairment and blindness and to promote the importance of vision health and to motivate them to take care of their eyes. Based on the theme 'Love Your Eyes', the students of Science Club participated in various Vision Health related activities and made posters related to Eye Check up , Vision Education and Vision Health. They were given important tips to take care of their eyes through a Power Point Presentation. The science teachers made the students aware of the 'National Programme for Control of Blindness and Vision Impairment (NPCBVI) ' run by the government in 1976 and made them aware about  the 'Vision Health Programme' run by the World Health Organization in 2020. Director CSR , Dr. Palak Gupta Bowry gave important tips to children for eye care and advised them to keep the eyes healthy , add  balanced diet in their routine, reduce  screen time, get regular eye checkups done. Following the 20 formula, one should focus on something 20 feet away for 20 seconds every 20 minutes. This is because this formula helps in relaxing the eyes while watching the screen and preventing damage caused by continuous screen viewing.
