Union Minister Manohar Lal advocates purposeful education in the state level conference on NEP-2020

National Education Policy (NEP-2020) is providing students an opportunity to pursue education according to their interest. This new policy is making a road map to ensure skill development and talent of the students and to connect education with society and nation. There is a need to make teachers and students aware about NEP-2020 so that this education policy can be implemented effectively. This was stated by Union Housing and Urban Development Minister Manohar Lal as the chief guest in the state level conference organized at MDU, Rohtak.

Rohtak, January 12, 2024: National Education Policy (NEP-2020) is providing students an opportunity to pursue education according to their interest. This new policy is making a road map to ensure skill development and talent of the students and to connect education with society and nation. There is a need to make teachers and students aware about NEP-2020 so that this education policy can be implemented effectively. This was stated by Union Housing and Urban Development Minister Manohar Lal as the chief guest in the state level conference organized at MDU, Rohtak.

In this conference on “National Education Policy 2020 – Indian Education, Culture, Values and Your Suggestions”, speakers highlighted various dimensions of Education Policy 2020.

Union Minister Manohar Lal said that under the new education policy, special focus on social outreach is necessary so that students can use education for social and community concerns. He suggested that students between 15 to 25 years of age can do social survey work to know the problems of the people and then a policy can be made for their welfare. Minister Manohar Lal explained the importance of Indian language teaching with the example of his own learning and use of Tamil language. The Union Minister strongly advocated purposeful education.

Invited speaker, Vice Chancellor of Haryana Central University Mahendragarh, Prof. Tankeshwar Kumar explained the various aspects of the new National Education Policy. He said that NEP-2020 has special provisions for practical training along with education of values and values. The National Research Foundation has also been arranged in this policy to promote quality research.

MDU Vice Chancellor Prof.Rajbir Singh, in his address, termed NEP-2020 as a game changer and said that this policy will be the foundation stone in making India a world leader. Along with the all-round development of the personality of the students, this policy will work to make the students of India global citizens. Vice Chancellor Prof. Rajbir Singh made a special mention of the various initiatives taken by MDU for the effective implementation of NEP-2020.

Director, Haryana Higher Education Department Rahul Hooda (IAS) presented the background of this conference. He said that on National Youth Day, NEP-2020 is being discussed in the entire state. He welcomed the guests and participants present. MDU Dean Academic Affairs Prof. A.S. Mann expressed his gratitude. The stage was conducted by Prof. Divya Malhan. Former Haryana Minister Manish Grover, MDU Registrar Prof. Gulshan Lal Taneja, Faculty Deans, HODs, Principals of colleges of various districts of Haryana including affiliated colleges, Professors, Principals/Headmasters of schools, teachers, Joint Director of Higher Education Department Dr. Hemant Verma and other dignitaries were present.
