Ludhiana, October 21, 2013: United Forum of Bank Unions (Ludhiana Unit) on Monday held a protest demonstration in front of State Bank of Patiala, Zonal Office, Miller Ganj, Ludhiana demanding expeditious wage settlement.  
Since there is no satisfactory progress towards revision of wages and it is unduly delayed, the Constituents of UFBU decided to exhibit their dissatisfaction, said the leaders while addressing the protestors.    
Speaking on the occasion, Sudesh Kumar, Chairman, Punjab Bank Employees Federation (PBEF), Naresh Gaur, Convener, United Forum of Bank Unions and Rakesh Khanna, Secretary ABOA said, they impressed upon the need on Compassionate Appointments issue, they sought to know the developments in regard to Compassionate Appointments, since a long time has elapsed after sending recommendations of IBA on the Scheme to the Ministry of Finance, Government of India.  The matter is still pending with the government.  
They exhorted upon the need to finalise the matter immediately as it has been lingering on for many years without any resolution. They demanded that the cost on superannuation and welfare measures should not be included in the cost of wage revision.  
With regard to Introduction of concepts of Cost-to-Company (CTC) and Variable Pay, they conveyed unequivocally its opposition for the introduction of concepts of CTC and Variable Pay in the banking industry.
On Wage revision of officers, they demanded that the negotiations should be held with the negotiating unions on wages and service conditions of all officers from Scale-I to Scale-VII as hitherto especially in view of the service conditions being common for all the categories and also to ensure relativity between the Scales.
Further speakers said that regarding Wage Revision and Increase in Wages, they wanted to know the response of IBA on the wage load and the offer of IBA on wage increase. IBA expressed its inability to respond in the absence of mandate from the authorities concerned.  
They expressed their concern about undue delay in the process of wage negotiations.  They also expressed their dissatisfaction and insisted for expeditious wage settlement.  
Leaders called upon their members to be in readiness for further agitation, strike if need be, if there is no positive and expeditious response from the government/IBA to settle 10th Bi-partite at the earliest.
Leaders said UFBUs has given the call to join the Parliament Morcha on December 1 this year as per the call of the National Trade union Convention.  AIBEA has also given an exclusive call for the massive Morcha to Parliament on December 11, 2013 by 30,000 members of AIBEA against the Central Government’s anti-labour policies.    www.cityairnews.com
