University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh bid a fond farewell to its post-graduated batch of 2024 in a grand ceremony held under the esteemed chair of Professor Parmjit Kaur, on Thursday. The event, held at Rajiv Gandhi College Bhawan, was a memorable affair, filled with heartfelt moments and expressions of gratitude.
Chandigarh, March 28, 2024: University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh bid a fond farewell to its post-graduated batch of 2024 in a grand ceremony held under the esteemed chair of Professor Parmjit Kaur, on Thursday. The event, held at Rajiv Gandhi College Bhawan, was a memorable affair, filled with heartfelt moments and expressions of gratitude.
The program commenced with the rendition of the university anthem, resonating the pride and spirit of the institution. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge and wisdom that the students have gained during their time at the university.
Professor Parmjit Kaur, the chairperson of the University Business School, Panjab University Chandigarh, extended a warm welcome to all delegates including esteemed Chief Guest, Guest of honour, faculty, research scholars and students, setting the tone for the evening's festivities. She bestowed her blessings upon the students, reminding them that as they embark on their journey into the world, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values instilled by UBS, they should always bear in mind that they carry the legacy of excellence and integrity. Each one of them possesses the potential to make a profound impact on the world. She expressed her sincere appreciation to all the students for dedicating their time to UBS, acknowledging not only their acquisition of professional expertise in their chosen fields but also their embodiment of the values of diligence, dedication, and resilience.
The highlight of the evening was the inaugural address delivered by the esteemed chief guest, Keshav Hingonia, Indian Administrative Services, Special Secretary, Social Security and women and child development, Panjab, whose insights and wisdom left a lasting impression on the audience. He emphasized the importance of continuous learning beyond graduation, remarking, “Your tireless pursuit of knowledge and your steadfast determination have led you to this momentous occasion. But as you prepare to embark on the next phase of your lives, it is imperative to recognize that your education does not end here.” Furthermore, he expanded on the evolving landscape of management, highlighting the need for multifaceted skills, including emotional intelligence and interpersonal understanding stating “Success in the modern world requires a multifaceted skill set that goes beyond technical expertise.” As the speech concluded, he urged the students to embrace lifelong learning and integrity, emphasizing, “Cultivate a spirit of integrity, resilience, and continuous self-improvement, for these qualities will serve as your guiding principles on the path to success and fulfillment.”
Following this, the stage came alive with captivating cultural performances, showcasing the diverse talents of the UBS's students.
The Guest of honour, Ishaan Punj, Client Director at Everest Group, our own alumnus batch-2013-15 from MBAIB then took the stage to share inspiring words with the post-graduating students, encouraging them to embark on their future endeavours with confidence and determination. He emphasized on transitioning from UBS to Management Trainee, honing marketing skills, later conducting market research in Ludhiana. Embracing a customer-centric approach, he climbed corporate ladders, now steering global growth. Upholding ethics and customer benefit, he navigates decisions with integrity. He urged UBS graduates to embrace challenges with tenacity. He quoted, “life will inevitably throw challenges. It’s within our power to transform these obstacles into opportunities for growth.” He also instilled the importance of being adaptable to changing environment and being resourceful. He stated that in order to go ahead in career, one should think creatively and step out of the comfort zone to achieve their goals.
Dr. Tilak Raj, Business Cell Coordinator and Associate Professor at UBS, in his vote of thanks, expressed gratitude to all individuals who contributed to the success of the event, including the faculty members, research scholars and students.
As a token of appreciation and remembrance, mementos were distributed to the post-graduated batch of 2022-2024 from MBA, MBAIB, MBAEP, MBAHR and MBA Executive, marking the culmination of their academic journey at the University Business School.
The evening concluded with a sumptuous dinner, providing an opportunity for all stakeholders to reminisce and forge lasting memories.
