University Business School, Panjab University, to host Golden Jubilee, Silver Jubilee Reunion & Alumni Meet on Dec 14

Chandigarh, December 12, 2024: One of the premier B-schools of the region responsible for imparting quality education in the field of management sciences, University Business School, Panjab University(PU),  Chandigarh will organise its Golden Jubilee, Silver Jubilee reunion & Alumni Meet on 14th December.

Every year, UBS organizes its Golden Jubilee, Silver Jubilee reunion & Alumni Meet to celebrate and cherish the achievements of its alumni, but current meet is rather special. This year, University Business School is celebrating the Golden Jubilee for not only one batch but four successful alumni batches, i.e., 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1974, along with silver jubilee for Batch 1999. The event is going to be graced by many well-known, reputable and distinguished corporate personalities who are spread out globally and hold top-notch positions that vary from country managers to Vice-Presidents in esteemed multinational conglomerates.

The venues of the event are the Law Auditorium (Arts Block IV) and the University Business School (Arts Block III) of the University premises. The University Business School is expecting to welcome around 100 alumni for the event.

The registration process for the event is expected to start at 9 a.m. on 14th December, 2024 at the Law Auditorium, after which the guests will be served with refreshments. The function will be presided over by the Chief Guest, Mr. Mandip Singh Brar, Home Secretary, Chandigarh. Other dignitaries include Guests of Honour, namely Ms. Preety Kumar, Managing Partner, Amrop India, Mr. Sumit Rai, Managing Director and CEO Edelweiss, Mr. Nitin Burman, Group Chief Revenue Officer, Balaji Telefilms, Founding member, UBS Alumni Association, Mr. Kuldeep Kaul,  President, UBS Alumni Association, Mr. Anurag Aggarwal, revered faculty members of University Business School and other esteemed guests will also grace the event.

The meet will be organized by Prof. Parmjit Kaur, Chairperson, University Business School and Prof. Navdeep Kaur, the co-ordinator of Alumni Relations, University Business School, Panjab University, Chandigarh. Prof. Parmjit Kaur stated that “The objective of Alumni Meet is to instill a sense of belongingness towards the alma mater among the alumni by being in constant touch with them”. The function will be followed by the felicitation of the revered teachers and alumni of golden jubilee batches of 1971, 1972, 1973 and 1974 and silver jubilee batches of 1999. Around 2 o’ clock, the guests would be taken for lunch in the ground opposite UBS premises post which a few other activities are scheduled.

The event will act as a forum for the current students at University Business School to interact with the guests through an Alumni-Student Interaction. This is where the future managers can gain some useful insights into the corporate world from the alumni. Students can widen the scope of their knowledge and gain from the rich experience their alumni have in various fields of commerce and management.

Adding a little cultural tadka, dance performances like Bhangra, Fusion, Retro, Music, Haryanvi, and singing performances by students are expected to blossom up the event. The fun element will take up a notch through various exciting activities. The program is scheduled to last till the evening, at the end of which high tea will be served before bidding farewell to the alumni.

The occasion is seen as a wonderful tradition for the alumni to recall their past and walk down the memory lane. It is a perfect opportunity for everyone to connect and make binding relationships.
