Chandigarh, August 6, 2024: Panjab University's University Institute of Applied Management Sciences (UIAMS) welcomed its new batch of first-year students from various streams of MBA (Sectoral) programmes with an engaging orientation program which was attended by more than 300 students. 

The ceremony marks the beginning of an exciting journey for the students, who will be a part of a vibrant and supportive community dedicated to their growth and success. The Director, Prof. Monika Aggarwal extended the formal welcome and said that UIAMS nurture students by considering their 360 degree holistic development. The program features esteemed guests, including Prof. YP Verma, Registrar, Panjab University, and Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma, Director, IQAC cell. The students also got to know their respected faculty members, who are dedicated to excellence in teaching, research, and service.

Prof. YP Verma, Registrar, Panjab University said that Panjab University is a land of opportunities and students must utilise them. He motivated the students to focus on their goals wisely and not to get distracted.

Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Sharma shared the vision and journey of UIAMS. He said that this is A++ University with a lush green campus and is a nursery producing players, politicians, entrepreneurs and best of the global employees.

The orientation program covered essential aspects, including anti-ragging measures discussed by Dr. Naveen Kumar, student safety, and placement opportunities.  Dr. Amandeep Singh Marwaha, TPO, shared his insights on career development and professional opportunities. Dr. Manjushri Sharma proposed the formal vote of thanks. The event was coordinated by Dr. Naveen Kumar, Dr. Aman Khera, Dr. Manjushri and Dr. Rachita alongwith student volunteers.
