UPES organises Principals’ Meet in Ludhiana
Ludhiana, October 4, 2021: UPES Dehradun, a multidisciplinary university organised a day long Principals’ Meet in Ludhiana, receiving a gathering of Principals from around 80 schools. It was organised to discuss National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 introduced by the Government of India and how best schools and higher education institutes can work together to make a difference in a student’s life through new teaching and learning processes.
Mrs. Harmeet Kaur Waraich, Deputy City Coordinator- CBSE addressed the principals. Her session was followed by veteran actor, writer, and producer Mr. Viveck Vaswani, also the Dean of School of Contemporary Media, Pearl Academy who shared his views on New Age Careers in the wake of NEP 2020 and how students can be prepared for these careers starting at the school level.
NEP 2020 has laid a lot of emphasis on skill-based education over mere textbook knowledge. Being a leading university in the higher education space, UPES comes with an in-depth understanding of the industry requirements from a careers & jobs perspective and the skills that are required for it. The principals’ meet was organised to build a stronger relationship with the educators and school Principals, partner with them and identify a road map where UPES can be of help to build capacity and upskilling of students, teachers and parents.
With this initiative, UPES is trying to join forces with various other institutions and share the task of not just introducing new age skills but also making it a part of the daily curriculum. With a successful start, UPES has a series of Principals’ Meet planned in multiple cities.
