Upper Dharamshala experiences second snowfall of season

Dharamshala: The entire Kangra valley is experiencing the biting cold, especially during the past 24 hours, as the mighty Dhouladhar range has been under the fresh snow cover.

Both the internationally famous tourist spots of the Dhauladhar mountain range, The Triund and The Billing, have once again covered with very thick ice sheet. The hills of Dhauladhar are once again laden with heavy snowfall. It is the second heavy snowfall on Dhouladhar and the upper areas of Dharamsala City and its adjoining areas during the last 10 days. This time the process of rain and snowfall started on Monday late night and is still continued.
 
On Monday night, snowfall started at around 1 pm. Nadi Tourist spot of Dharamshala has about five inches of snow and another spot- Bhagsunag has two inches of snow till Tuesday evening. Once again the cold wave has increased due to snowfall on the upper areas and the continuous rain in the city. On Monday, the temperature in the day was normal and people got some relief from the cold. But at night the weather took a sharp turn again. Apart from this, 6 inches of snow has been reported in Dharmkot and about one feet of snowfall in the Galu temple in upper Dharamshala areas.
 
Dharamshala got 26.6 mm rain in the past 24 hour, whereas Palampur got 20mm and Kangra 12mm rain in this period.
