Urgent need to confirm status of filling up 350 posts backlog vacancies for disabled persons

Ludhiana: Senior citizen and social worker Dr Satish Kumar Thaman has written to Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh requesting for an urgent need to confirm the status of filling up 350 posts backlog vacancies for disabled persons in service group ‘c’ and group ‘d’ in various municipal corporations, municipal councils, nagar panchayats in non-provincialized cadre in state of Punjab (special recruitment drive for disabled persons only).
The copies of the letter have been sent to Local Bodies Minister Punjab Brahm Mohindra and Director of Local Bodies Punjab.
He added that it has been learnt that the recruitment process is getting delayed due to the pandemic as the recruitment camp is postponed till further orders and fresh dates is be intimated later on. He pointed out that the applicants belonging to all categories are awaiting schedule of interviews. He urged upon the chief minister to start interview process through virtually via video conferencing to enable them to earn their livelihood.
