A one-day workshop on the use of Plant Growth Regulators (PGR) was organized by the Regional Horticultural Research and Training Station, Mashobra (RHRTS) on Tuesday. The workshop was attended by scientists and progressive farmers from five districts of the state.

A one-day workshop on the use of Plant Growth Regulators (PGR) was organized by the Regional Horticultural Research and Training Station, Mashobra (RHRTS) on Tuesday. The workshop was attended by scientists and progressive farmers from five districts of the state.

Dr. Sanjeev Chauhan, Director of Research of Dr. YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry, Nauni was the Chief Guest on the occasion. University scientists Dr. Neena Chauhan and Dr. Naveen Sharma presented the research work done by the university on PGR. The scientists apprised the participants of the recommendations made by the university regarding PGR.

In his address, Chief Guest Dr. Sanjeev Chauhan emphasized the use of growth regulators at the right time and in the right quantity with scientific input so that its side effects from unscientific use can be avoided. A farmer's scientific interaction was also organized on this occasion in which various topics related to PGR were discussed.

External experts Dr. PS Chauhan and Dr. JS Chandel discussed the contribution and importance of growth regulators in fruit and plant production and also cleared the doubts related to growth regulators. Dr. Dinesh Thakur, Associate Director of RHRTS Mashobra informed that the center has been working on plant growth regulators for the last 43 years. He urged the orchardists to use plant growth regulators as per scientific advice only. The University has prepared recommendations on PGR for orchardists based on years of research work.

All the experts urged the farmers to use PGR at the right time and in the right quantity based on the recommendations of the university so that they can get reap its full benefit without any adverse effect on the crops. About 80 farmers, scientists, and officers of the line department were present on this occasion.
